Blended Pathways exists to help couples and families navigate the unique challenges of blending with clarity, intention, and support. We work with engaged couples and blended families who want more than survival — they want understanding, connection, and a shared path forward. Our approach is practical, relational, and grounded in real-life dynamics, helping families build stability without ignoring the complexity of their stories.
We are a couple, coaches, and lifelong students of relationships who believe most relational pain isn’t caused by lack of love — but by a lack of tools. After decades of studying communication, boundaries, identity, intimacy, and family systems — and navigating these realities firsthand — we’ve seen how powerful things become when couples learn how to slow down, communicate clearly, and repair effectively. Our work is rooted in both lived experience and practical skill-building, helping couples approach marriage and blended family life with clarity, steadiness, and realistic hope.
At Blended Pathways, we believe that most couples aren’t failing — they’re simply navigating relationships without the tools they were never taught. We work with engaged, newly married, and blended-family couples who want to build something solid and sustainable, not just hopeful.
Our approach is grounded in the belief that when couples learn how to slow conversations down, communicate clearly, and repair effectively, most problems begin to ease — and many disappear altogether.

Blended family life often brings more complexity than couples expect — not because they’re doing something wrong, but because they’re entering systems that require skills most people were never taught.
At Blended Pathways, we don’t believe couples struggle because they lack commitment or care. We believe they struggle because no one showed them how to communicate under stress, name expectations early, or repair after hard moments without escalating or withdrawing.
Our work is built on a simple conviction: when couples learn how to slow things down and communicate effectively, clarity replaces confusion — and connection becomes something they can practice, not hope for.
We focus on teaching couples how to:
*communicate without escalating or shutting down
*recognize unspoken expectations before they turn into resentment
*repair after conflict without rehashing or avoiding
*approach blended family life with realism, patience, and shared language
This is not about fixing broken people. It’s about equipping couples with tools that support long-term stability, especially as they prepare for — or navigate — the realities of blended family life.

Growing up across multiple homes and family systems gave me an early, lived understanding of how relationships are shaped by change, stress, and unspoken expectations. Divorce, transitions, and shifting roles taught me that love alone doesn’t prevent confusion — and that clarity is often what’s missing most. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong curiosity about how families function and what helps them stay connected over time.

Daun’s understanding of relationships was shaped differently. She grew up and experienced her parents’ divorce later in life, after she and her siblings were grown. Her deepest learning came through her own marriage — and the difficult process of navigating a divorce after twenty years. That experience gave her a grounded understanding of commitment, grief, identity shifts, and the quiet ways communication can erode when couples don’t have the tools to address change together.

Blended Pathways was born at the intersection of these experiences — one shaped by blended family complexity from childhood, the other by the unraveling of a long-term marriage. Together, we bring both perspective and empathy to couples navigating transition, uncertainty, and new beginnings. We believe that when couples learn how to slow down, communicate clearly, and repair effectively, they are far more equipped to build stability — especially as they prepare for or move through blended family life.

Our inspiration is not an idea — it’s a family.
The blended family pictured here represents what happens when two different relational histories come together and choose to build something new with intention. It reflects both the beauty and the complexity of blending lives, roles, expectations, and relationships over time.
We know firsthand that blended families don’t thrive on love alone. They require communication that slows things down instead of escalating, clarity where assumptions would otherwise take over, and repair when missteps inevitably happen. Connection in blended families is built — patiently, intentionally, and with skills that most couples were never taught.
Blended Pathways exists to support couples who want to approach blended family life with honesty and preparation, rather than pressure or perfection. Our work is shaped by lived experience and guided by the belief that when couples have the right tools, stability and connection are possible — even in the midst of complexity.
